Republican candidate Gary Jeandron raised the most money in the 80th assembly district race, according to electronic filings with the California Secretary of State's office.
The electronic filing deadline was midnight Thursday. Only candidates who raised or spent $50,000 or received a $5,000 donation are required to file electronically.
Of the seven candidates vying for Assemblymember Bonnie Garcia's seat, only four have filed electronically - republicans Jeandron and Lupe Ramos Watson and democrats Victor Manuel Perez and Greg Pettis.
The other democrats in the race are Ricardo Gonzales, Richard Gutierrez, a Calexico dentist, and Gilbert Ramirez had until midnight Thursday to postmark their paper filings.
Garcia, R-Cathedral City, cannot run again because of term limits. |
