Members of Coachella’s Eleanor Shadowen Senior Center will honor member and World War II veteran Adam J. Mugni, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 29.

Mugni, a resident of Indio, will be presented with an American flag in appreciation for his service to the country.

During the ceremony, the center’s worn community flag will be replaced with a new flag sent from Camp Pendleton Marine Base.

The flag will be presented by retired Palm Springs Police Chief Gary Jeandron.

The 158th Battalion of the California Cadet Corps from Indio High School will present the colors.

The Eleanor Shadowen Senior Center is located at 1540 7th Street, Coachella.
