CALEXICO MAYOR ENDORSES JEANDRON FOR ASSEMBLY
Jeandron Builds Support in Imperial County
Palm Springs— Today, Chief Gary Jeandron announced he has earned the endorsement of the Calexico Mayor Louis Fuentes.
"I'm supporting Gary for State Assembly because I think his experience of more than 30 years as a Police Officer gives him the character to deal with tough issues important to our community and to not be intimidated by the politics of Sacramento," said Mayor Fuentes. "His commitment to protecting the lives of others and participation on the school board is proof that he has a genuine interest in helping keep our communities safe and protected."
The Mayor’s endorsement joins hundreds of local elected officials, organizations and community leaders from around the district.
"We have been working to reach out to all communities throughout the district," said Jeandron "This campaign has been about knocking on doors and meeting with every possible person we can. I am a consensus builder that will continue to develop relationships with all the community leaders throughout the district. My message of safe streets, good schools, and a strong economy resonates with the Mayor of Calexico as well as the rest of Imperial County."
Gary Jeandron is vying for the seat to be vacated by termed-out Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia. The 80th Assembly District includes the cities of Indio, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, El Centro, Calexico, La Quinta, Coachella, Brawley, Desert Hot Springs, Blythe, Imperial, Calipatria, Holtville, and Westmorland.
Jeandron's years of public service includes serving as Police Chief of Palm Springs as well as serving as a member of the School Board for the Palm Springs Unified School District. Jeandron is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and currently resides in Palm Springs with his wife, Vicki.
